Burlington Northtown Community Credit Union (BNCCU) is seeking a team member to join us. As a member of a small credit union team, the individual will have a diverse opportunity to participate and learn many aspects of the credit union operations, including a broad span of retail operations, lending and management functions.

To be successful in this position, the individual will be well organized, dependable, detail oriented and personable. This individual should enjoy being a team player, possess excellent verbal communication skills, cash handling and mathematical reasoning ability. In addition, must be willing to learn and understand the credit union products and services. Member privacy and information security are essential, so the individual must understand and abide by the strict confidentiality policies that are necessary in a financial institution.

As the Retail Manager / Universal Banker for BNCCU, you will:

1. Function as a head teller in scheduling, ordering cash, balancing, etc.
2. Process member transactions include deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, loan payments, account verification, etc.
3. Open and close accounts. Answering members’ questions regarding services or issues surrounding credit union products.
4. Lead the credit union in customer service for the inbound phone calls and lobby traffic.
5. Manage and process member ACH and debit card fraud disputes cases.
6. Manage returned statements, dormant accounts and address changes.
7. Function as primary on several retail operation functions, to include ACH and draft reject decisioning, ATM management and account reconciling.
8. Work as a team to help educate and demonstrate to members the products and services offered by the credit union.
9. Assist in credit union marketing and membership growth.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2. Minimum of 2- 3 years of retail management experience or 1 - 3 years of experience in a financial institution having performed as branch manager, universal banker and/or consumer lending experience preferred
3. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Good general math skills.
5. Ability to communicate effectively in person and phone.
6. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
7. High attention to detail
8. Experience working independently and in a team environment.
9. Ability to interpret bank/credit union procedures and policies.
10. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel and Outlook
11. Marketing
12. Must satisfy requirements of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act Sec. 19

Salary range:

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience
