Miranda Hamrick of Burns & McDonnell and Richard Lanning, president of the North Kansas City Levee District Board of Supervisors, will share insights on the levee and floodwall systems that make North Kansas City structurally viable.
The North Kansas City Levee Unit safeguards portions of North Kansas City and Kansas City, Missouri, from periodic high-water events. Engineered to withstand a 0.2 percent annual chance of occurrence (commonly referred to as a 500-year flood event) along the Missouri River, the system is meticulously maintained to the highest standards, reducing flood risk and ensuring community resilience.
Brought to you by the North Kansas City Business Council and the Clay County Economic Development Council with refreshments sponsored by Express Employment Professionals.
