| Apr 1 Northland Coffee Connect: Rich Groves |
Some people have suggested that maybe the person who keeps asking others to host and present at Northland Coffee Connect should tell his own story and tell more about what the North Kansas City Business Council is and does. Rich Groves’ first day as Executive Director of the North Kansas City Business Council was September 10, 2010, the same day the Bond Bridge was dedicated. Since then he has been active not only providing leadership for the Business Council, but has been active with other organizations that have shared goals for workforce development, other forms of economic development and tourism. In recent months he has been extremely active in helping North Kansas City businesses prepare for the opportunities that the World Cup in Kansas City will offer.

| Jun 4 2026 Mickey Finn Scholarship Golf Classic presented by Country Club Bank |
Mickey Finn Golf Classic Tees Up for Scholarships and Business Council Support
Golfers will have a chance to make a difference at the 2026 Mickey Finn Scholarship Golf Classic, an annual event hosted by the North Kansas City Business Council. Set for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Tiffany Greens Golf Club, the tournament—with Presenting Sponsor Country Club Bank—is more than a day on the links, it's a chance to invest in the future of North Kansas City High School students through scholarship funding.
With a shotgun start at 11:30 p.m., the event features a four-person scramble format, encouraging both competition and camaraderie among players. Participants will enjoy 18 holes of championship golf, on-course contests and prizes, and opportunities to network with local business and community leaders.
Each golfer will receive a green fee, a team golf cart, lunch, on-course refreshments, and entry to the awards dinner and live auction, featuring F325 BBQ. Additional perks include two mulligans per player, the "Tiger Woods' Drive" (allowing players to skip their first drive and take their second shot from a prime position across the lake), and the opportunity to aim for multiple cups in the Multiple-Cup Par 3 challenge.
🎓 Supporting Local Students
A portion of proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for North Kansas City High School seniors, helping students take the next step in their academic careers. NKCHS has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and preparing students for success, and the Mickey Finn Golf Classic plays a vital role in making that future possible for deserving graduates.
🙌 Sponsorship Opportunities
Beyond playing, businesses and individuals can support the cause through sponsorship opportunities at various levels. Sponsors not only gain visibility within the local business community but also directly contribute to student scholarships. For more information and a list of benefits to each sponsor level (Presenting, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Hole Sponsor), visit the Sponsorship Opportunities page.
